Well, my mother is in the heart of this track, my mum who passed at the age of 46 following a car collision and a series of misdiagnoses by several medical centres. No blame, only loving memories of a presence, a feeling that continues along with me in my life. And then there are other loved ones, and your loved ones, and the whole fact of mortality. It's alright.
The final polishing of this track was interrupted by the pandemic, so you hear my voice as it sounds through a condenser mic close up, without all the little tricks and processes that remove the so-called imperfections. So what you have here is imperfect, just like all of us.
Peace and music.
lyrics
I see the pink sun, light up the snow
I see the birds fly, ‘though the air is cold
and I see your face, ‘though you’re not here, feel your embrace…
so the sun goes down, pink to blue
night gathers round, so do you
and I see your face, ‘though you’re not here, a warm embrace
the dark of the moon, is where you are
meanwhile I’m, on a different star
but I know your face, it’s in my heart, we make our peace
so turn to grow, dark eyes may see
I let you go, come back to me
and I see your face, drawn in light, you take your place, and it’s alright (your spirit’s all around me…)
